Hi everyone my names are Lucy Mashua and I am the global ambassador for fighting female genital mutilation and standing up for women's right. I am a survivor of FGM and for that reason I chose to be the voice for the voiceless . in the US we have over 280,000 at risk of undergoing FGM, some with a kitchen knife in their US kitchen, some will be taken to some doctors like Dr. Dix P. Poppas, head of pediatric urology department at Cornell University's New York who performs FGM on girls and then uses his finger or vibrator weeks later to test arousal:(( disgusting) , we will deal with him later I just want you to know what we are dealing with,some girls will be transported back during holidays to their parents country of origin and they will undergo FGM, this bill will hinder all that ,HR 2221 GIRLS PROTECTION ACT OF 2011, introduced by Rep Mary Mack Bono (republican) and Rep Joseph Crowley (democrat), I have been working with both office and the state department on this issue and now as a face of this bill I am humbled and honored, here is the list of the 19 co-sponsor we have already ,here is what am kindly asking you to do please call them and thank them if they are your representatives, tell them you appreciate them and they rock, also tell them a big thank you from me , for those of you that you don't see your representative name please call them and ask them to co-sponsor , I will keep you posted ,
